I’ve been blogging on social media for the past 9-10 years and recently I noticed social media was the root of causing me to become less social.

I found myself excluding myself from in-person friendships and depending on social media more to fill that need in my life.
You see, I was a lonely stay-at-home for years until I discovered I could connect with other moms and friends who were going through the same stage of life.

Sure, the connections were kind of shallow and I couldn’t depend on those friends to pick me up if my car broke down anywhere, but it provided the much needed socialization I was missing.

Unfortunately, too much of a good thing soon becomes no longer a good thing and I realized how isolated I was becoming especially since the pandemic.

The majority of my in-person friends stopped getting together and a lot of us found refuge in social media for human connection.

But when the world went back to “somewhat normal,” I had created a habit of only connecting with friends online and my in-person relationships were basically non-existent.

That’s when I felt God tug my heart to lay social media down for a season. And it’s been so good for my soul.

In today’s episode, I’m getting very vulnerable and sharing with you how social media made me less social.

Warning, there’s some tears but I also give you some straight up inspiration to lay down the social media beast as well.

Do it friend!

It’s life-giving and I’m here for you if you need support.
